Spagettiby bogusComment: I'm afraid the lighting on this leaves the image a little flat and lifeless. Also looks to be underexposed some. Good luck in the challenge. |

I will use all the chances not to dieby NafigatorComment: I don't understand the title to this image. What's the purpose of the rope in this image? I know, these questions aren't really related to the quality of the image, but do help with context. As for the image, the angled placement of the subject helps - it's still a bit centered. Some shadows falling on the right end of the rope could be eliminated with a light reflector to fill. I keep getting distracted by what appears to be some text under the paper on the left center side of the photo. All of the above is JMO of course. ;^)
Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

restraintby saintaugustComment: This has some nice pleasing lines to it. The diagonals of the boat help as does the subtle reflection in the water. Good luck in the challenge. |

Old Ropeby prenticeComment: I like this overall. Nice contrast and a well-balanced B/W treatment. I would like to see this in some other orientation maybe. How did it look rotated right or left? If you could have composed the shot with diagonal lines instead? Just some thoughts. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Between Climbsby ralfwComment: Nice color, and I like the background. While the background is blurred by DOF, it's still identifiable and is applicable to the image theme (plus, it matches your title, or vice-versa). Only negative I can see you getting on this is the image is pretty much split down the middle. Good luck in the challenge. |

usedby tcmartinComment: Nice choice for B/W treatment and for a shallow DOF. You even managed to keep it off-center, which is challenging for the subject you've selected. ;^) |

Figure 8 knotby scotthadlComment: I love the color in this. May have worked stronger on a plain black background... Anyway, good color, well focused, and the lighting/exposure is right on. Good luck in the challenge. |

The magic featherby TUBORGComment: Interesting image. Makes the viewer stop and try to figure it out - which is a good thing. ;^) Nice composition and your POV makes this work. Lighting/exposure is well done for a subject with lighter tones. The primary point of interest in this for me is the second (smaller) person, rather than the feather as the title implies. Hope this does well for you. Good luck! ;^) |

Faerie Kissby SJCarterComment: Did you mean to say 'Fairy Kiss'? ;^) The way this has been processed gives the butterfly a 3D feel, which is cool. I'm trying to figure out how the tail end of the butterfly has decent details, yet the tips of the wings look blurred or smoothed (noise reduction maybe?). DOF could be impacting this view as well...hmmm. I look forward to coming back after the challenge and visiting your comments in the photographers comment section.
Good luck in the challenge. |
