Woody's Houseby trina101Comment: Wonderful! Not only is the scene/setting outstanding for Woody, but the technicals are flawless. Really! Job well done. Congrats in advance on what should be the Blue for this challenge IMO. |

floorby Keit_LTComment: Oops! Nice floor - cute kitty - but not a wooden stick man (you know, from the challenge details). Don't worry, it's not the first time someone has missed the fine print of the challenge and won't be the last. :-) Good luck. |

Woody Awakesby violinist123Comment: Not worthy of comment. Oops! I just did. :) Seriously, what's up with this? Oh, I know - that's really a wooden stick man camping out in a tent, right? Well, I'll give you 1 point for humor. Good luck. |

Hey Captain!by becky-leeComment: Clever idea. You've used a very shallow DOF it looks like and the focal point may be off just a tad as the duck beak seems soft - nothing terribly bad, just an observation. You probably could have cropped (or framed) this image even tighter to eliminate the front railing (hard to tell what it is at first). If needed you could trim some of the top also to keep the duck in a ROT positioning without losing the Jolly Roger on the sail. This would help bring greater focus and detail to the main subject, the duck. One other consideration...the background...a royal blue background, instead of white, would add some color and mimic sky/water. Just a thought, and of course, all of the above is JMO. :)
Good luck in the challenge. |

Dark Waterby Cakileen28Comment: Not sure what you did here, but the lighting in general is too dark IMO. Subject is a bit too centered also for many I'm sure. Sorry. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Memoriesby patryComment: Uh-oh. Somebody missed this part of the challenge. The details...
"Details: Include a rubber ducky in your photograph this week".
Nice painting/drawing BTW. |

Hidden Duckyby deacueductoComment: Is he/she bashful? :) Interesting approach you took here. Not sure that it's going to go over too well unfortunately...think more of the duck should be visible. Another item that will hold this down some is the lighting, it's too harsh where you're getting the reflections off of the waxy leaves. Diffused lighting would have worked a little better here I think. All JMO of course. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Jersey Devil Huntersby quiet_observationComment: The color of the guys jacket really stands out well in this scene. If he was alone it would work better. Looks like you had ideal lighting conditions (overcast skies) for this particular shot.
Not sure that this challenge is really a good fit for multiple portraits, and their activity isn't really stating strongly the "essence" of the person. JMO of course. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Big Legs Little Legsby baco99Comment: Pembroke Welsh Corgi...awwwhhh. I had a little guy like that once. This pic makes me miss him. :( Could have been twins.
As for the image, the technicals are there. Storyline? Does it tell the "essence of the person"? Little bit thin in that regard. This photo seems to be more about the dog than the person. JMO of course. Best of luck in the challenge. |
