I like that you included part of the ice area to show viewers the sporting venue. It also acts as an initiator for the curved waves of rowed seating to follow. That probably sounded corny I know, but that's the way I see it when I look at your photo. All of this verbiage for empty seats - aaiieee! :D Good luck in the challenge.

Wonderful choice of desat IMO. If this challenge was about the players it would score highly. Unfortunately, I thought the challenge is about capturing a photograph AFTER the players and people have left. :( Again, wonderful image (really!) - not quite right for this challenge IMO however. Oh, oh, oh! Or is that ooohhhh? :D I say that because have you taken a look at how this image comes across with the top cropped at the edge of the grass!!! Some very nice color in this and I like the repeating lines. Get rid of the distractions up top and you've moved your score up at least 1-1.5 points, maybe more. JMO of course. Adorable! Innocence - Youth - Wonder - Happiness. All caught in one image. The DOF works great here with the grass blurring slightly in the background. Did you play around with some tones in this (B/W comes to mind first, maybe Sepia)? Good eye to catch this.

This is fun to look at. The gal with the scarf stands out as she doesn't need her hands to hold onto her hat and she seems quite enthused in conversation. There is also a rhythm to this photograph as they all appear to be leaning slightly and you can also feel the flow and "swish" of their dresses as they walk in unison. :D Of your people shots for this event, this is my favorite.
