light spotsby charlievComment: A unique approach to the challenge, and aptly used. I really like how the light "spots" continue all the way up the far hillside. The photo seems a little noisy and looks like it could use a small boost of contrast. Good luck in the challenge. |

black and whiteby margiemuComment: That's a mighty fine slice you took there with DOF. Looks like you got the head area and back wing in focus - wish the front wing was also sharp. Good eye to get out and see this photo opp for the challenge. Did you happen to convert this to all B/W just to see what it looks like? I'd be curious. Anyway, good luck in the challenge. |

Well Balanced by idnicComment: Clever and well executed. Could see this one on the front page at rollover! :D Good luck. |

Felis Catus Spottiusby SiggavComment: That is one cool looking cat! A little faster shutter speed would have froze the cat's paw and whiskers (which are a little blurred). Very good color and focus on the body and legs of the cat. The red door/cabinet in the background pulls the viewers attention away unneedlessly and probably should have been cropped out. All JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Dark Queenby korileyComment: The colortone on this seems off. Did you desat a channel or something? How would this look in B/W? Just curious. I hope it didn't hurt getting those "spots" off! :D As for the photo quality, the lighting could stand to be diffused some, unless you wanted those glare "spots" to show up on your big "spots". The focus is nice and sharp on her nose and mouth, but seems to get soft around her eyes. |

Plants spotsby njb123Comment: That's some cool spots there! Good eye to see this one. The background is perfect for this. I'm not sure if it's an optical illusion or not, but the photo seems a little blurry. Like one of those images when you look at it the right way the dots move. When I look at the lower right "leaf?" I can see the texture on the plant body so you've captured the detail. Just weird the way those spots seem fuzzy. Hope I'm the only one seeing it this way. :D Good luck in the challenge. |

Spots and Dots of Colorby sammigurlComment: Wow. That's some unique lighting to be that balanced thruout. The DOF is wonderful on this and what needs to be in focus is. Good control of your environment. The colors are saturated enough, but not overboard. The connection to the theme is a little thin. Yes, there are some spots, but they are a relatively small part of this composition. That might hold this entry back some. All JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

oil spotsby FedericoComment: Some interesting refraction going on here in this abstract photo. Would have a little better impact if the area around the spots (the off-white/grey area) came across somewhat cleaner. I'd have been tempted to run this thru some very heavy NI and despeckle filters to see if it cleaned up a little more. All JMO of course. Clever entry. Good luck. |

Spotted corpse - twisted and wrappedby jj94Comment: Kind of morbid title and theme. :( As for the image, I like the idea of using the Twister game as a body wrap. The background is too busy and distracting. Almost would have worked better with some lush green grass or plain beige carpet. Of course then you may have had to come up with a different title. :D Good luck in the challenge. |

My favorite spotby gwreckerComment: Which one is your favorite, the freckle on the shoulder, or the spots on the stuffed toy? :D Wait, maybe you mean HER favorite spot? Hmmm... Anyway, it's fun to look at from a man's POV. Kind of wish she was a little more sharply focused around the face and eyes. JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |
