This is a unique entry. I'd have been tempted to go straight B/W with this as there isn't much color to begin with. Little vignetting (burn in the corners), and some detailed dodging on the 1 3 2 ($1.32) numbers would help show them better. Just a thought. :D Good luck in the challenge.

I have to wonder if this lady is a shopper or a worker? Great detail and clarity in this photo. Wonderfully captured story here.

Wonderful job of selective desat. Certainly made this vendor jump out as it would have been lost in the "busyness" otherwise. Good job of PP (vignetting, blur, desat, etc...). Nicely done.

Very thin DOF on this. Would like to see more of it in focus and with better lighting (or adjust exposure in-camera).

First challenge? The text in the border is a no-no (no copyrights, etc...) - take a peek at the rules when you get a moment so you don't run into this with your next entry.

Good luck.

Cute catch with the sign and all. Seems like a stretch for this challenge IMO. Consider it without a title, what does the photo say? JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge.

This is fun. I like the various tones and colors (except for that blue box in the lower right). Did you consider coming in a little closer and getting just the rolls to fill the frame? Just a thought. :D Good luck in the challenge.

Interesting to note that the "models" in the paintings bear a strong resemblance to the artist in facial features. As a photo, this is "ok". Personally I think you could lose a fair amount of the bottom (flooring) part of this image. This would give the baseboard trim a little more strength as a divider for this composition. If you had to crop into the floor covering (cardboard rectangle taped to floor) some that would be ok, as any small portion left could be cloned out (advanced editing ruleset for this challenge). The burning on the lower right wall is a little too evident IMO (I understand you were trying to leave the center lighter to draw the eye toward the artist). Of course, all of the above is JMO. :D Good luck in the challenge.

Excellent! I love this. This has print/stock sales written all over it. The title works great (made me search for the Odd item). This has nice tones to it and the repeating pattern is outstanding. Other variations were taken as well I hope? All peppers (no baskets) or some tight shots to fill a frame with peppers of one color/two colors? Wonderful find and a very nice job of capturing this photo. Congrats!

Things that make you go hmmmmm. Interesting photo. Could have worked for the 'Death' challenge as well I guess. Nice choice of tones to coordinate with the 'Dirt' theme. It would have been a little stronger if more of the image was sharper. The hand steals the show here, yet only about half of the hand is sharply focused, while the bottom half of the image (especially the foreground top leaf) is crisp. Either a deeper aperture to bring it all in, or a very shallow aperture to fade hard from the middle finger back (keeping the back edge of the foreground leaf and the last two fingers sharp). All JMO of course. Overall, well done! Best of luck to you in the challenge.

This is a cool shot. I like the high contrast that you've achieved by using late/early day natural light. The blowing sand (dirt) is an appropriate touch for this challenge. One minor complaint; seeing as this is an advanced challenge I would have considered cloning out the top of that building (water tower?) in the background that's poking above the treeline. The eye is naturally drawn to it and that takes away from the overall impact of this wonderful photo. Anyway, best of luck to you in the challenge.
