Looming in the darkby RefwhettComment: This is a wonderful B/W photo! Great tonal range and clarity. HDR was helpful here I'm sure, especially in the upper levels of the cabin. Very well seen, captured, AND processed. |

The fight to the finish..by ho0jokerComment: Interesting to look at. The reflections are cool. Not sure about the yellow color cast...juries still out on that one. At first glance it makes me think that your white balance is way off, then I wonder if you didn't do this (yellow) on purpose. Composition is a bit tight (especially the bottom). I think a border would have helped distract the viewer from this a little. More breathing room around the edges would help some. Although I do notice a piece in the lower left corner that suggests you were using a small mirror and had to crop tight? Good luck in the challenge. |

PowerGripby ustiebitzComment: Whoa! Now this is extreme, but it almost kind of works in a weird abstract way, especially given the subject and title. Hmmm... At first glance the top of the battery looks like an eye and the hand is some strange head that belongs to it. :D Anyway, good luck. |

Not So Heavyby klorineforbrainsComment: He's back! This dude gets around. :D I like the concept, it's clever. The image itself is underexposed substantially. Use your custom white balance to get your whites white, curves and levels are also tools to help get your whites & blacks in line. Good luck in the challenge. |

Acid vs. woodby ATAPEComment: How can you tell who's who? King, Queen, etc... :D The subject seems too distant. Did you try cropping this down (or capturing initially) where you zoomed in on the board more, even losing some of the board and maybe a piece or two? I don't know, just a thought. Something seems out of balance. JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Life's short, live it to the maxby andreisComment: Somebody has TOO much time on their hands. :D Cute! I think I would have lost the white thing in the back right, it's distracting and unidentifiable (at least to me). A white backdrop would have been stronger - or - if you wanted to continue the festive mood, try something like crinkled tinfoil or something? Just a thought. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Battery Beastby SebiComment: Kid's toy? Hard to tell what it is, which is kind of cool...makes you look harder. :D It's "ok" overall. The lighting isn't quite right, it's too dark and the bottom edge, like you had a flash on and it was partially blocked or something? Anyway, good luck in the challenge. |

bring it onby Prime_TimeComment: Creative concept. This may have been a little stronger with a white base instead of the table top, and diffuse the lighting a little (it's a bit harsh). Keep at it... Good luck in the challenge. |
