Canarian Sunsetby zifengwComment: You really need to move that horizon off-center you know. :D Nice job of getting the correct exposure for this. Good luck in the challenge. |

Acorn on Mossby BakerBugComment: Oops, you missed! With the focal plane I mean. The area in front of the acorn is well focused, and just barely into the front surface of the acorn. More impact could have been made with more of the acorn in focus, and perhaps spot metering on the light area of the acorn cap. As it, the highlights in the cap are blown out. I really like the OOF areas in the back, the bokeh is nice. Good luck in the challenge. |

Bunny 101 AKA Destroyer of Planetsby StrayzComment: Have you read " Watership Down"? Perhaps then you'd see it the other way around. :D
This is very cute rabbit. Family pet I take it? Decent photo as it is. Being an advanced challenge you may have considered some light burning of the perimeter to draw the eye to center. Especially in the areas above the rabbit.
Good luck in the challenge. |

Snowmanby krafty1Comment: Last hurrah of the holiday season? :D The snowman looks great, as does most of the surrounding vicinity. You may have been better off just leaving the light in the upper left overexposed. The slight dodging on it just draws attention to it IMO and doesn't match the rest of the photo.
edit: Oops! I meant burning, not dodging. :/ Message edited by author 2007-01-10 09:11:38. |

shadowsby arsenalComment: This is a very interesting photo. The man looks to have some interesting features and I'll bet he good tell a fine story or two. :D I like the bokeh working in the background fence (although some are going to have an issue with that being a secondary subject I think). I'm not real crazy about the approach you took with PP on this, just not my taste I guess - kind of ruined the shot for me personally. I do wish you luck in the challenge. Take care. |

Divided.by shamerComment: I like the tones here. Think I might even recognize the photographer based on the style of selective blurring. :) Good eye to see this. Well done. |

keep awayby briantammyComment: I like this. Nice. Concept is clean and simple - tells a story. I wonder some if the dog isn't stealing the show a little? Tricky choice on selecting the correct aperture for this I imagine. Deep enough to keep some detail in the dog, shallow enough to eliminate motion blur (if the dog moves). Some of the fence fell out of the focal plane, but it's sharp where it counts mostly. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
