Winter Solitudeby dolphgalComment: First, I'm sure you've heard this a dozen times already, but it bears repeating...use the maximum 640 on the long side. You lose impact and details with a smaller size. On the positive end I guess, you get lots of comments. :D As a photo I really like what you've done in post-processing this. Great tonal range for a B/W - you've covered the range completely without blowing it out or losing details in the shadows. The focus on her face has a soft quality to it in a good way. Overall, nicely done. Just show it off a bit more. :) Good luck in the challenge. |

I Didn't Do It!by Shy ClickerComment: First thing I thought of is "creative" composition. Second thing I thought of is pretty extreme high contrast. In this photo the high contrast actually works pretty well. Don't know if this was staged or candid, but good eye to see it nonetheless. Good luck in the challenge. |

Proud Grandpaby chesireComment: This certainly has it's place in the family album. Nice shot of Grandpa. As a portrait in the type being looked for in the challenge, its' not quite there technically. Mostly the lighting is too harsh IMO, and overall it's a little soft (or perhaps it appears soft around his eyes because of the way they seem to be squinting). All JMO of course. :D Good luck in the challenge. |

Fuzzy Skull Of Death (Or, Looks Like A Camel, Smells Like A Horse)by chip_kComment: Cute! This is one of those rare times that I like a long title. :D This is a great image and would probably do well for you as a stock photo. As a portrait shot...well, I'm not certain. Wonderful clarity and sharpness where it counts. Overall, nicely done. Good luck in the challenge. |

Frosinaby tsikakisComment: I like the head scarf, but the image seems a little bit dark. I can see where you've adjusted the lighting to emphasize her eyes...just not quite enough overall IMO (and yes, my monitor is calibrated). :D Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Innocence.by shamerComment: I like this. Nice job of post-processing. Your focal point on his face is right on with a nice soft blurring elsewhere. Good luck in the challenge. |

No time for Portraitsby sfmorrisComment: Well at least you got him to sit in front of a black backdrop. :D This is well put together. I like the expression on his face. Good luck in the challenge. |
