I don't care...by jcofComment: I don't either ("care") but I gave it 9. Very interesting shot. I "feel" it is missing something that would have added to the overal impact, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that might be. |

Seven Linesby mcmurmaComment: There is much negative space here. Problem is I don't see any subject (positive space). |

Vigilanceby syamjonimiComment: I'm not sure I care for the dominent redish tone, but I gave this picture a 10 because of two things: First & foremost, the NegSpc *does* say "wow" and compliemtns the overall pic. Second, the subject is well chosen, poised and framed. |

Out of the Blue by JeanComment: I bet this must have taken you a number of shots. Poor kid, I hope they got a candy bar out of it. "10" |

Dreaming Bird of Paradiseby focusComment: "Negative Space," as I understood it and as discussed in several forums here, is the space where the subject is not. We also discussed that negative space is not necessarily blank space. The subject is readily discernable and removeable from this picture. That it was colorful seems have rated this low. I am very appreciative that a number of you enjoyed the picture anyway. Just in case there is any question, I am not the least bit hurt or upset. I cannot begin to say how much I have learned by being an active member. Not only about photography, but about myself and how others perceive my work. Thank you all for your feedback. |

Bananas at 2 O'Clockby spidermanComment: Your shot shows a high level of technical difficulty. (I doubt I could pull it off.) Without the title I would not have been able to recognize the item in the pupil of the eye. |

Untitledby cmcvetyComment: If you're going to "do" nudes, get a model who has "got the body" for it. I truly do not get the intent of the photo. Technically, the lighting could be better. Artistically it is lacking. I have come back to this picture a few times because i feel I owe you more than what I wrote above. There were two other shots where the human body was used. The most outstanding was "Forbidden Fruit." That picture tells a story and brings together fruit and a nude model in a complimentary manner. The problem I have with your picture is not the nude nor the use of a "beautiful body." It is that there is no mental correspondancy between the two elements. The nude does not add anything to the image and in fact, detracts from it. Beyond that, the lighting for image is not adequate and there is a glare off the vegi.. |
