The problem with this photo in my opinion is that it's just not interesting. I mean what is the main subject here? Is it the tree? The street? The houses in the background? Sure you could have an interesting shot with the same elements, but the composition here is simply boring. The other thing I don't like is that light that is dead center in the photo, it's distracting and does not match the overall dim atmosphere throught the photo.

Nice photo, but you got to be more careful with sharpening tools, the halo around the flame is okay, but the one around the edges of the lighter is very distracting.

The final score and placement for this shot is just unexplained, this is one of the best photos on this challenge, and yet it placed 51 out of 209, I just don't understand voters sometimes ..
