Reflecting Sketchby Yo_SpiffComment: Love it. When looking to water as your subject in such a challenge finding the perfect focal point is the real difficulty, and you nailed it with this isolated branch. |

Frozenby hajekaComment: This is a really good execution of a simple shot. I see there are some really good shots for this challenge with more interesting subjects so it's not going to make my top picks, but you've achieved something admirable and difficult in make the mundane quite beautiful. |

All. Day. Long. by LydiaComment: Lovely composition bringing in the chair back and its shadow. Gives me inspiration for photographing my own dog (as if I need any more reason to do so, he's practically all I shoot!) Good job! |

Slumberby PaulComment: So hard to get these perfect portraits of our pets! Love the expression and I think you did very well with the composition in a difficult situation to photograph nicely. Good job. |

spiking sunriseby NightyComment: It's a travesty this didn't score higher!
One man's everyday is another's nostalgia I guess, who are we to say the sun breaking through the treeline isn't a nostalgic moment for a past time in our lives?
I quite like the composition and you've done well to expose this correctly. Perhaps the subject itself needed to be stronger in this particular contest.
Good luck on the next one! |

Beautifully Blueby SunsetDreamsComment: This is a solid idea and a good execution. You can see it's a little soft focus due to the camera or editing used, but your composition and idea is great! Keep it up. |

The Shadow of a Sunny Day Casted on the Cloudsby SunsetDreamsComment: I'm sorry this didn't get any comments at the time!
The composition you chose is FANTASTIC honestly, it's so difficult to find one in clouds as they are so random. The colours look great. You can see there's a little bit of noise/grain due to the editing, but overall I think this is a good entry!
I hope to see you back again for future challenges! |

An Easy Decisionby anniepieComment: Great exposure and subject!
My main advice for this one is be careful with the plane of your shot angle - the subject looks good but then the fruit bowl makes us realise we're kind of upside down, bending over and it's a little unnatural. Play around with the angle a bit next time to find one that really works whilst getting everything in shot (it isn't always easy at all, but then you can go with the 'flat lay' setup if all else fails!) |

A Study in Reflections of Remainsby anniepieComment: Free studies tend to have a lot of good entries, so don't be discouraged by the low score! This is a much improved composition, although the horizon line is a little crooked (easily fixed in phone or post). The colours look good and I like the contrast between the nature and the industry.
I look forward to seeing you in future challenges! |
