Decadentby Ricky CleaveComment: The subtlety works; but the composition would actually – I feel – be better if the angle didn't show quite so much of the steel structures reflection. For me, this draws the eye away from the central theme and does quite a bit of damage to the overall shot. I think its effect is more on the subliminal level; once you get your eyes sorted, it's a great shotâ€Â¦ (8) |

Flat outby siggithorComment: Great shotâ€Â¦ I think colour would have worked better, but I still think this is a good shot. (8) |

Cancer Stickby AnachroniteComment: Gross – but that's what this challenge is all about. Composition and exposure work well and add to the atmosphere of the shotâ€Â¦ (8) |

Twisting in the Windby andrewmComment: I like this shotâ€Â¦ Great use of colour and the wind ripple on the water adds nicely to the overall effect. Composition works; the diagonal lines add an element of drama making a fairly boring subject quite interestingâ€Â¦ (8) |

Corporate Garbageby Mrs. POTUSComment: Awesome composition and subject; this shot is total garbage – the only time I think I'll get to say that without upsetting the photographer :o) This is a dynamic shot with superb use of scale and (dare I sat it) negative space. The whole image just yells out at everybody to look at the blot on that beautiful landscape. This could easily be used as poster for any ecology or environmentalist group – and it wouldn't need any words. This is a powerful shot - first class photography of the highest calibre. (10) |

the garbage I take out every dayby notashamdComment: The composition is perhaps a little off; it's unclear where one should look within the shot. If the contents of the shovel (scoop type thing :o) ) is the primary subject, then perhaps changing the angle and altering the composition would to make that clear would improve the shot. Lighting too is a little off; it's a bit on the dark sideâ€Â¦ (5) |
