When I saw the thumbnail of this, quite frankly I thought it would be a fairly boring use of a shiny worktop. But it isn't; the ring really makes the picture work to perfection. Great drama, great composition and subtle use of absolutely no reflective surface whatsoeverâ€Â¦ Tops (10)

This is quite subtle, the reflective state of the background works well. The composition is very good and I like colours in the mosaic. The lamp itself, in my opinion, is too close to the reflective surface. It makes the lamp look like it has a handle at first glance. This effect draws the eye away from the subject, and although it's just a tad, the effect does take away from the overall imageâ€Â¦ Other than that, the shot works wellâ€Â¦ (7)

Don't Pay The FerryMan

I like the overall shot, but I think that there are to many background divisions that just draw the eye away from the main subject. I think that if you'd cropped the boat on its own, this would have removed the conflict within the shot, looked really cool and added balance to the shot. To me, it has too many backgrounds to be really effective. As it stands, I still really like the shot; it's interesting and well exposedâ€Â¦ (7)
