aleksiComment: Couple of people asked privately what's this all about, how it's done. Well, here's the explanation even though this really isn't all that weird. I shot boiling water in a kettle having layer of olive oil on it. As you can see, there're lots of bubbles captured in more viscose oil while the water is still. Except for the after waves of the bigger bubble on the edge of water-oil frontier. Note also, there are very many small bubbles, and the bubbles have varying focus, meaning those have different depth and few are moving fast.
Beside bubbles the oddness is enhanced by couple of points, in my opinion. First, the oil layer acts like a lens, thereby distorts the view, especially on the edges. Second, the light is peculiar. I had couple of ordinary lamps but they were so wildly on different spectrums that there was no way to get them balanced out during white adjustments.
I'm a bit mystified why in the end the average was only 5.3 while there're no non-positive comments. Yes, one said the name was weird and another one noted the "thingy on the lower left" (being curve from the kettle intentionally left in the frame but perhaps it should be bigger or have greater role in composition) but apart from those, there's no real critique. Perhaps, this is just generally lousy picture beoynd improvement to the level required for this kind of challenge regardless of quite a few people who liked it :).
