Great idea, great look on Buddha's fingers. Too bad about the cut off leaves. I would guess that it would look better with just a little bit of leaf or the whole thing.

The grain seems to work fairly well, but I'm having trouble with the alignment, particularly with that top right corner. At least it matches though.

Good idea though

I actually thought it was kinda interesting too, I noticed that there were a couple of X patterns in the bark, but I did feel that it was a bit too much of a stretch for me.

You might try hitting a desat on the blue channel to get rid of the distraction on the top left.

Otherwise, an interesting abstract with a bit of a gothic feel.

Underrated. Nicely done example of good lighting. Simple is good.

Seems a tad OOF, and needs some of the left cut off. That fold is rather distracting.

I'm not much a fan of dogs, I'll admit, but this is a really super pic. I think you did just about everything right in camera.

I will second the comment about using curves to nail that background to the black point (it's really easy) and making sure the largest size is 640.

It's really beautiful.

You should repost this pic (with the adjustments) in your portfolio and put a link to it in the comments.

The Visual Pun challenge lives on. Bra Digital Photo. BradP.

Excellent image, excellent take on his name. I don't think I'd ever have taken a picture like this in a million years.

A million years being a rough average of the amount of time before most girls would consider letting me take a picture like this of them. ;)

Nice and a half!

ROBBED!

I think a lot of people were really under the impression that this was not what you said it was.

I didn't even think for a second that it was an actual bubble. Knowing that you actually did take a bubble, I'd say this is pretty damned amazing.

Oh well. There's always the favorites list...

Hysterical. I also want a button like that. I love that it was right next to the END button.

It's a nice touch that you brought out plenty of detail in exactly the right place on the finger.

Very nicely done.

Couple of tips that might have helped in this pic obviously taken in difficult light circumstances:

Remember to try to use manual focus and not too much of a narrow DOF. From where you are going to sit, focus on the tripod head, then lock focus. Place camera on the tripod head and set up the timer.

Also, try to straighten your horizon before posting. Although, seeing as you are in Iraq, I couldn't say for sure that you even had access to your own personal computer. This could have been done using unfamiliar software.

It looks like you definitely got your lines right.

Canon cameras have recently started coming out with a feature called an Intervalometer. It allows you to tell the camera to take pictures at a certain interval. If you felt like it, you could set up to take 5 or 6 shots in a row at 1 minute (or less if this is possible on the 5D) intervals allowing you to make a few attempts at being reallly reallly still.

An aperture of f5.6-8 at an ISO of 1000 or even better could possibly have helped make things a bit easier to handle, placing the greatest difficulty on remaining still for around 2-3 seconds.

Hope its a bit helpful. Your profile indicates you have some pretty serious equipment, so it's just as possible that you know all of this and just didn't have time to muck about.

Ok, I'm officially weird. I laughed more on this picture than any other in the challenge. It's 120th out of 140.

I'd have given a 10 in the challenge if I wasn't so busy lately.

I know you were itching to give it more, but you could have done without the sprinkles maybe? Try increasing DOF perhaps?

I might also have liked a Sepia tone or a 1920's style heavy yellow lighting?
