An Army Of Oneby bravo sixComment: I'm not exactly sure what you do for a living, but I get this funny little feeling that you are a very lucky man who is very happy with his choice of career.... :) |

Does Not Meet Challengeby amandaloreComment: I love the decisions you made with this.
I would have pushed the brightness just a hair though if it were me.
Great shot. Deserves a place in the DPC hall of fame! |

He who lives by the sword dies by the swordby jsolsonaComment: Congrats on doing so well. As someone else mentioned, such extreme borders are very tricky with the DPC crowd.
With such a controversial presentation, doing as well as you did speaks volumes.
Oh and a big shout out to Vancouver! (actually from victoria, but when you live in Asia, Vancouver feels rather close to home) |

Not playing with a full deckby LalliSigComment: Hilarious! If I had seen this during the challenge it would have been a 10...
I wish there were a deck of cards or something to cue in with the title though...
The odd angle of the sofa chair is perfect.
Beatiful pic. |

Life is a journey, not a destinationby whiteroomComment: Nice to see that you squeaked into the top 20 with this one. Very nice.
Further proof that the rule of thirds will take a back seat to other aspects of composition provided they are strong enough. In particular the great lines. |

Four Years Laterby KonadorComment: I came back to this because I knew there was some story I was missing. I didn't have time to vote in the challenge, but I had a quick look through and this one did make an impression.
Having read it, and seen the comparison, I'd say it rocks! |

The (Almost) Invisible Manby librodoComment: As another asian resident, I also see this all the time and it bothers me a lot at how callous people are towards these individuals. They get jaded because of so many people who try to make an extra scene of themselves... I've seen people using magic markers, lipstick and nail polish to try to accentuate minor and sometimes non-existant wounds.
So it is not surprising that people are cold to this type of person.
But when you see the ones that are genuinely damaged goods, it is heartbreaking to see the apathy around them.
Your picture has captured a beautiful moment where the innocence of youth shows through as unmarred by the distant uncaring stance of the adults around. Great stuff!
It is interesting to see the difference in individuals in these situations. The ones that are in real dire straits often appreciate a few kind words as much as a small donation. |

LK_0148_crop3_sharpnd.jpgby eschelarComment: Fixed! Thanks Healing Brush! Oh yeah, Noise was partially intentional. It happened by happenstance and I liked it once it got into monochrome, so I left it in and accentuated it a bit. Message edited by author 2006-05-04 10:20:27. |

daydream by CalliopeKelComment: Long overdue! I really like the color treatment you gave this. So mysterious and intriguing.
A well-deserved top three! |
