The Rose

Your rose has really good definition and the angle of the shot is pleasing. The only thing I can think of changing is maybe the color of the red. Make the red a little darker and a little red'er. I think you might be able to use levels on photoshop if you have access to it. Maybe an input level of 60/1.68/2.20 (rgb) might help it stand out more. Ok enough blah blah from me :).

How Bout Them Apples!

Apples were a good idea, however the red doesn't make an impact for me. Maybe you could change the composition a lil' as well. Maybe get the apples from a different angle or stack them up in a pyramid :). Good technical skills though.
