Goldby labudsComment: I guessing this was a powerful yellow filter or a Photshop RAW tweak all the way to the left. Regardless I like the lines and the opposite corners upperR/lowerL and the balance is great. With all the emphasis on blur/fade/scratch technique in the rest of this challenge I actually found myself wishing that the upper-center branch was more in focus. High Marks |

Winter strollby geewhyComment: This picture haunted me. I had to view it on a CRT to finally realize that the gamma had gone on my home LCD. When I first saw it I could not see the umbrella and it looked like a headless person holding a mirror. I like this shot very much, but the leaves in the lower corner are too much of a reality check. Great technique in the impressionism! |

Cold november night by heidaComment: Curious about how you got the blue/white light contrast. Something in the wall and her jacket seemed to cause your camera to draw lines through her. Otherwise this is yet another of those top-scoring submissions in this very talented challenge. |

Confessionby karmatComment: I love this photo. The effect is very powerful even without the title it would have touched a deep chord. I gave you high marks, but it seemed too photo, not enough impression. Can I get away with actually saying it seems like it needed MORE noise? I think I need to go to confession.... |

Water Lilies (The Clouds)by GordonComment: This is excellent work. Looks like a combination of camera movement and multiple ripples to do the hard work. Upper right corner's dark area seemed like it was not in synch with the resot of it, but I still had a very hard time when it came to deciding if this was one of the three 10's. |

The Fountainby autoolComment: Excellent crop and lines versus curves. Something about the surge in the left became too distracting to me - like you had any control of the water.... Very high marks! |

Country Sunrise by BradComment: This should be hanging on a museum wall. Very nice. I loved the texture used to achieve the look, but it seemed to get washed away in the highlights and is the only thing that gives the 'picture' away for what it really is. |

Serenityby connieComment: Monet...Monet? Simply beautiful. I feel like this whole challenge is a personal museum tour and I don't even have to leave home. It was hard not to push this one into the one-of-three 10-slots I restricted myself to in this challenge. Each time a 9 was placed, it was for the most pitiful of picky things. I only could say here that the left lower corner appeared burned. Otherwise, there is nothing I could offer in critique. |

First Impressionby JeanComment: I really like the balance of thirds on this one, the contrast of the large and small circles against the lines of the painted prism, somehow the reflection in the green seemed too burnt/blurred compared to the rest of the picture, but I still had to give this an almost perfect. |

Lumiere de bougieby graphicfunkComment: I'm thinking multiple layers of saran wrap here, with vaseline maybe smudged on it as well. Whatever the technique, this one was the last (or first as you wish to look at it) one that I let convince me into giving a ten. To take a picture that I can already see without abstracting it would have been beautiful, but to be able then to translate that great shot into a faux painting...very nice :-) |
