Definitely low tech. The angle seems a bit too steep for my personal liking, but that seems too subjective to really be a factor. I like the DOF here with the subject very focused and the wood slightly blurred. Highlight on the central body seems too striking, but still high marks for this one.

I'll grant its low tech, lighters are higher tech, but a magnifying glass would have been super low tech. Other than that, I find the subject's presentation too simplified. The DOF is not deep enough to keep the single match head in focus on the outer rim of the field. Moving the match head to the center would fix this, but would not save the whole which seems more like a shot that would be taken in a digital camera scavenger hunt - go find some matches, not find something low tech, and still not interesting enough for a stock photograph.

This is a great image, but all wrong. The microphone is wireless and the headset is some of the newest tech in the industry. On the plus side, the color is brilliant, the focus spot on and the balance of subject with negative space is perfect. Some highlights in the color and cuff are way too washed out. This is a 3 based on challenge, not composition.

Nice choice of subject. Definitely low technology. Great focal point and DOF. Something in the contrast between the wetness of the wheel and the desaturation has made the image seem more of a miniature (model) wheel rather than the real thing. Perhaps a reversed desat would still focus on the wheel while correcting this.

Good choice of grey toothbrush as it seems to work well with the greyish complexion and very shallow dof. I fund the image disturbing in a way, but it is well balanced. I find very littte here to remind me of technology even low or ancient tech. My wife says sonicare, but even that seems a stretch here. No points for challenge, but points for composition and color.

Great choice of low tech! Like the angles and offsets of the grid, sheath and rule. Everything seems balanced well and DOF is deep but nto distracting at all. The lighting has somehow caused the flap on the sheath to appear greenish as opposed to the black of the rest of the leather and this is very distracting. Not sure if that could be fixed with movement of lighting or in post-process. Overall very good image tho.

This is a huge stretch on the technology even on low tech. I like the textures you were able to capture on the fabric, really think the pin and paper need to go. This would make a good E-Bay ad image, but in the challenge I fear it does not place well with me.

Old fashioned or low tech?... both. Nice job of picking a good subject and great angle for presenting it. Just enough DOF and focus in the center that my eyes go right to the central knot and really have a hard time not staying there!

Definitely low tech! Excellent DOF on this and nice choice to use a new and not a 'ratty old' trap that would have taken something away. The mouse hole is very fuzzy on the inside edge which really flattens the image. I'm not sure how to fix that, but it seems out of place.

Really like the selective desaturation and shallow DOF making the subject really stand out. Crop seems right on and balanced. Hate her glasses and the pink really clashes with the rest of the composition, but you can't be faulted too much for fashion faux pas. I think tho I would have asked her if I could take a picture of the taxi without her on it...
