The Wake of The Internetby RanklesComment: A very nice presentation, but does not remind me of technology, even in the reference of the internent. I really like the shard of light. Considering this is a very low light situation, you have managed to eliminate a ton of noise, keep teh text very crisp and highlight exactly the point you are trying to make. Good high marks for that, some loss due to the viewer's persepective of technology. |

Egg Whiskby HeavyComment: At first glance seems ordinary, but then finds balance in the shell coloring and the background cast, well sectioned off by the placement of the wisk and the backlit shadow. Good DOF and focus, distracting highlight on the bottom egg on left, nice flow of shapes with ovals contrasted with the sharp angles. I did not find myself thinking of low tech, but see that it very much is. |

The way it used to beby maelmsComment: God this is a great collage! I am torn: knowing that digital is the higher tech and film the lower tech and yet technology seems more 'gadgety' to me. Cannot fault on subject matter. The artist here has evoked lower technology and done so in the most devious of ways. I love the dof, fades on the corners and full background, excellent sharpness on the canister and central environment. A cacophany of tiny different textures that all blend into a whole that draws the piece together. Very nicely done. |

Hourglassby joebokComment: I am struck by the golden hue of this image. At first glance it is powerful almost majestic, then my eye is drawn away by the flame and it's reflection off the glass. The brushed metal is well defined, lit and focused, but just below, the platform or support seems very out of place and the backlighting has cast shadows in the foreground supports that detract from the whole. A slightly tigher crop, less backlight and a small amount more of foreground lighting would bring it all into balance. I find the DOF very solid and the focus on the sandcatch excellent. There is no doubt that this is a low tech item. |

Simple Lifeby NeuferlandComment: I am struck first with the choice of subject, the horse or the tools, as I consider these, I note that the rope above the horse's ear appears like a noose almost holding up the horse's head. This has become too distracting to me. I like the choice of desaturation and color cast as it ages the image. The varied elements are in good focus or shadowed well in their own place, but the elements vying for my attention challenge the whole as separate things that dont want to add up. |

No Power Locks, No Power Windowsby JEFFJSBComment: Definitely low tech transport. Your choice of a bleaching in b/w has a positive effect on aging the image even more. It is well placed and cropped, perhaps slightly too much on the top, but this is not detracting in any way. Nice job! |

"Low Tech"... Fix-Allby tfarrell23Comment: Tape technology. I am challenged to see technology in tape (compared to other fasterners? compared to other tape?) In some ways it could be argued that duct tape is high tech compared to scotch. The subject is well placed in the frame and falls out of the frame at a good locations as well. DOF just enough to make what is important stay in focus and what is secondary becomes an afterthought. Little strong on the highlight over the single tape but causes a blending into the background that works for the whole. Overall good composition, feel I'm stretching too much for technology, but the idea sticks well anyway. |

By Handby webkrisComment: Definitely low tech. Something about your camera angle makes this look like the egg beater is hanging in mid air with a table above it (rotated 180 degrees perhaps?) The highlight on the end of the beater seems overdone, but achieves a side-effect of drawing my eye right to that focal point. A second light on the top left corner would balance the whole and make the subject look less suspended. Nice detail on the subject itself however. |

Before Digitalby Tech-DComment: Certainly low tech. Somewhat electronic, but might pass as non. Love the way the camera's positional angle points to the lens, but then the lens is defocused forcing the viewer to revisit the camera as the subject. This might be considered distracting, I find it innovatively artistic. Nice choice of crop and frame size. |

Food Processorby mickwestComment: Great example of low tech, in fact a throw back to teh stone age! Nice interesting textures and placement of the elements. Very distracting dodge remnants on the sides of the pestle creating a hazy glow from behind and below. A careful use of the history brush in adv editing would easily clean this up and leave a near perfect image. |
