It's amazing how many pet pictures with extremely tenuous links to the actual challenge one sees. "Fluffy's Authority Over His Bone", etc... etc...
This picture , I think however, works, and fits the challenge very well. Perhaps a little more definition in the fur might have been nice, but overall, well done.

The sepia toning is a little overdone. I'm not sure that I get "authority" from this picture either. It seems like yet another "take a picture of a kid, or your pets and try and squeeze it into the challenge by inventing a suitable title".

Hmmm... I wonder if I should have lost the spoon.

For what it's worth (and I doubt anyone will read this), there was no flash - just a long-ish exposure. Also, the reason the crop is so tight is that my printer ran out of ink, and I therefore ran out of background. If you look in the top left, you can see the edge of the checkerboard pattern.
