The Lone Pebbleby andriComment: Awesome tones and depth. I would like to see an edited version with the sky cleaned up. And possibly rotated 0.5 degrees clockwise? |

Waitingby sephick911Comment: I agree, this is an underrated shot. I thought it would be in the top 5. Great idea and execution! |

Reels by StructorComment: Congratulations! I had this picked as one of the top photos. Great composition and tones. So, what are those things used for anyway? |

Tethered at First Light by bryanbrazilComment: The submitted version was edited on my laptop -- that's why the colors are so extreme. Here's another version...
Here are a couple more taken from the same dock as the one above...
All these shots were taken on the west side of Lake Tahoe near Homewood. I got there at 5:30 AM, just before sunrise. Pretty much all of the photos from this series were taken while holding two graduated neutral density filters in front of the lens.
Oh yeah, they were all taken with the EF-S 10-22mm lens. Message edited by author 2006-07-12 00:36:49. |

reflections of the pastby RikkiComment: Great shot Rikki. Yeah, I was there a couple of weeks ago and had a hard time getting a shot without all the fences. Love the composition and the few stars. Congratulations on fifth! |

Intricacyby bryanbrazilComment: Yep, used a polarizer to get the very dark sky. Other than that, just converted to b/w and did the usual resize and sharpen.
Originally posted by adine: Good work with bright light - nice tonal range from dark to light. Must have used a polarlizer too? Great dark sky. Nice composition with the 90 degree angle at the bottom contrasting with the soaring curve of the dome. |
