Ah! I love this processing. I hope there are details in the image description. It makes everything look like a fairy land at dusk. Surely there is an enchanted ball being held in the building on the right and all the lovley ladies arrived in that boat. Soon they will all stroll out onto the bridge. Thanks for the fantasy!

oh my. this is a frightening image. Have I seen this in a bad dream? that is a huge fire! It is well composed too. The dark verticals are so strong and straight while the reds and yellows are all swirly and irregular. The chaos is going to win over the order. or is it? will the strong beams remain after the firestorm?

The Tidal Basin at Sunset

A sunset is like a joke - sometimes you just had to be there. They don't translate well into photos. An interesting foreground helps. This is a lovely sunset and it must have been specatular in real life. I like how the colors are richer in the water than the sky. I like the perfect mirror image. The branches on the right, do the add? detract? I think the image is better with the branches but would have been even better if there was, say, an interesting silouette of a tree. I know, as photographers we take what we get.

What is all that stuff? Is it part of the jellyfish? I've forgotten my invertabrate anatomy. Anyways it looks like smoke and the jelly spaceship is about to take off. I wish it wasnt cropped at the bottom, it makes me feel like I'm missing the last puff of smoke.

solar eclipse

Hmmm - the event of a solar eclipse is spectacular. Perhaps this photo is not. The title is asking me to remember a solar eclipse and the eerie darkness but the image does not portray it for me. Without the title this is just a glowing eyeball. I can assume it was difficult to take, but level of difficulty still doesn't translate into gorgeous, or even informative, photo.

oooohh - excellent - at first glance i thought "too much mascara" but as I look at it more, the make up itself makes a statement. The lovely eye, the liquid Iris and the black ick - what we add to nature is crude compared to the inherent beauty.

First Moments Alone

Well, the couple is lovely and the backround is perfect but I can't overlook the giant blade of grass up the guys back, the stripes on his shirt even help to make it look more like a leaf. Can it be edited away because otherwise this is a stunning picture.
