The Oracleby arngrimurComment: This little girl looks familiar, is this your shot Arngrimur? Anyway, one of the best shots in the challenge, I love the lighting here and the soft glow that comes from the sphere. Still not mind blowing so I "only" gave it an 8 but good work and hope you do well. |

Chandelier Eyeby bladComment: Pretty cool but it bugs me a little bit that you cut of the top and bottom that way, I would rather have wanted to see this perfectly symmetrical and in a 1:1 crop but I still like this shot a lot, especially the colour and simplicity of it. |

Crusingby PanoComment: Pretty cool! I am going to look this shot up after the challenge is over and see what lens you used for this one, the fisheye really makes this shot work. Stil not a 10 from me though as it´s a little too "funky" for my taste and also I would have liked to see it darker but great creativity on your behalf. Hope you do well in the challenge and I gave it a 9. |

Blacklit Mickiesby tryals15Comment: Cool shot and I like it but if I may be presumptuous and spring an idea, this would look soo much cooler if the glasses had been standing on a bar with some bottles and stuff in the backround and out of focus. Anyway, good job and to be clear I like this shot. |

Light is Lifeby garlicComment: Now this is pretty cool, gotta love painting with light. I gave it a 9, I love pretty much everything about it except 2 things. The bottom leafs should either be in the frame or out of it, not half in as it is now and the big lights that have burned out highlights take too much attention but other than that, perfect. I especially like the lines that make up the backround. |

Starlightby bryanbrazilComment: Not bad as a postcard but subject is a bit overdone and I would probably be scoring this higher if this was the first time I saw this magnificent bridge. I like this shot but it´s just very mundane and not exciting at all. One question though, where are those starlights you are referring to with your title, I don´t see a single star in the sky? |

Reluctant To Wakeby cherylogleComment: The frame is horrible and doesn´t do anything for me personally but detract attention from the photo. That aside and trying to ignore the frame the shot is very nice and I love the lighting and the high key feel to it. Especially like the tones and composition along with the soft focus in the image. Ended up giving it an 8, good job. |

The splash of an apple by LalliSigComment: Originally posted by insane: I see from, what you wrote, that you do many water shot's and that you are particulary interested in this theme.

I don´t really see where you get this idea, as I clearly stated in the photographers comments I say "This is my first time doing anything similiar as this and it was a lot of fun, I am definately going to do this again sometime."

Don't get me wrong, but I am infuriated, that people spray objects with water drops or use some water techniques, since it's seems to me so cheap.Well we know that there are loads of water shot's in here so I say we should try to do something invoative. For some time now I am discriminating all water shots. It's just that there were some really impresive ideas and they where executed in a very good way. Your shot is just not a ribbond winner. It's not a symbol of an 'ideal or the best' image to me.

Well fair enough, that is your opinion but you can never please everybody and while I appreciate your opinion on this, I respectfully disagree. I don´t think there has ever been a ribbon winner here at DPC that doesn´t get a lot of 4 and less in grades so there you go. I must admit though that several times I have given ribbon winnners "low" scores so all I can say is that fortunately different people have different tastes and it all pretty much evens out in the end.

Hehe, don´t worry, none taken, I value people that say their opinions, no matter how much I disagree.
To everybody, thanx for the comments, favorites and of course the votes, I appreciate it. Now for the hard part, to get another ribbon to prove I am not a "one hit wonder" :o). Cheers from Iceland, Larus. Message edited by author 2005-05-25 07:30:09. |

Safe on a solid rockby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: For my personal taste this is too bright and not nearly as mysterious if you would have been if you had used a couple of stops less light, either in aperture or faster shutter speed. Anyway, nice Idea but doesn´t quite hit the spot with me. |
