Worktableby paha_lComment: ok the image didn't have to contain all three elements so you're ok there BUT what is with the monitor? I admit it is an impressive monitor and seems to be perfectly arranged with the background (although the back image could use a little bit more light) but what has the computer chip have to do with it (is it the granite thing?) You've used some creativity but I think you over did it and shot yourself in the foot. Sorry |

I choose the rock every timeby buzzmomComment: well at least it isn't a regular river rock like the other images. I think you would have faired better if you'd just shot the ring, with maybe the paper behind it. Your lighting seems ok for that and you could have probably gotten right down to it to show some detail and bling. Good DOF. |

More precious than...by bhowieComment: I hope a lot of the people learn from your image...you have met the challenge while creating a classy very detailed image. Your DOF is a little harsh and causes a little too much blur on the right side, but you did not stay inside the box when it came to shooting this. You apparently put a little thought to it and took some time setting it up. Good job |

Baby Feetby brandeetillmanComment: Not to be rude but it appears the baby feet were added hoping to get the cute factor? Your image could be brighter and needs some contrast adjustment. I would have maybe used the entire baby with a rock in the background or something, your cropping is a little tight also, maybe bigger less centered would have been better....check out some of the images that have the flowers with rocks or the waterfall. You attempted to use some creativity but was probably rushed. Better luck next time. |

Paper curlsby frogletComment: ok this image is similar to others that contain scissors and paper, (I was even looking for a rock somewhere) BUT you have added a new level to it. You kept it from being boring and appearing to look like it was shot with a camera phone. You've got great colors and different shapes to draw the eyes around the image, your scissors reflect the yellow one nicely and your DOF is perfect. Thank you for being creative and putting some thought to your image. Good luck |

Daisy on the rocksby GinaRothfelsComment: beautiful, bright flower, sharp, nice detail, good positioning, nice DOF and is best of all...it's DIFFERENT! I have stopped voting on all the pictures that contain a rock with scissor while they cut paper...come on people where is your imagination? Great job and good luck. |

Lava rock cutting the skyby lastefComment: a beautiful picture but I think you over did it with the lava rock. Maybe a different angle would have solo'd it more. Now it looks like a nice mountain picture with a rock in your way. Colors seem a little bit dull but not bad at all. |

Leaf Wraps Rock, Rock Breaks Fingers, Rock Winsby Zed PobreComment: Please allow me to offer some possible help with your image.
First it is too small, 640 is the biggest any side can be so use it, if you went smaller due to the mb issue then learn about compression and do it in small amounts till you get past the allowed level.
The hands are blurry, try and make sure they stay still when shooting, unless this is an action shot it really distracts from the overall image.
The hands are both cut off at bad places leaving floating fingers...try to re-position them to get more of the hand, maybe even moving back to include more space to get them in.
Your crop is way too tight. Leave room, this may have helped with the hands as mentioned above.
Nothing is really sharply in focus.
I do like that you didn't go with the traditional scissors cut paper, rock crushes scissors photo like most did, that shows you do think out of the box and have some creativity, hope my suggestions can help. |

Rock, Rock Paper, Scissorsby neophyteComment: 2nd time I've seen this issue in this challenge. Yours lacks sharpness and I think you could have benefited from not centering the entire image. you had the creativeness but not the setup. Good luck |

Rock,Paper,Scissorsby booneComment: I understand the desire to enter a challenge when it comes up but sometimes I feel people just enter anything just so they can say they entered. Your image feels like this.
Please consider the following as helpful as that is the intent of it. First your crop is too tight, leave some room for the eye to see and not feel so compacted to the small space. 2. Try and keep from centereing your image, use the rule of 3rds if at all possible (trust me I'm still fighting this tendancy to center stuff). When you move stuff to 1/3 of the image you will leave more image to see and becomes less boring. 3. Your image is a little dull in colors, see if you can add more light or adjust it in the computer. Remember to check the submission rules of editing first so you don't inadverntaly get DQ'd. and last...the scissors seem a little blurry, this could very well be from the compression of the image so your original may be good. I would love to see your uncropped one and see if there is something that could have been done to help this ordinary image become extrodinary. PM me if you have questons, I am by far not an expert but have learned a lot from here. |
