Kenneth Patton: The day I see a leaf is a marvel of a day.by dwterryComment: While I like the image, the colors and the lighting I do not believe it fits the challenge as it has nothing to do with grains of something as far as I can see. I applaud you for staying away from the typical salt/sugar image but I think you went a little too far away. |

Sugar Mountainby aledComment: nice up close and personal, I think I just got a cavity from looking at it. could be a little sharper but very nice detail. Maybe some unsharp mask would fix it. |

Hot Saltby jockselwynComment: I like the idea of this shot, the salt color and you did very good capturing the texture of the salt grains but I'm not to keen on the darkness of the shot. good luck |

saltfallsby sacredspiritComment: I imagine you tried to use a long exposure to try for a soft velvet touch to the salt like they do in waterfalls. You came extremly close but your darkness hurts the image. A curves adjustment may be able to save this image. Good luck in the challenge and it is really a good idea for the shot. |

Stalkby BobsterLobsterComment: I can't believe 9th place?!?!?!?! I gave it a 9 and was totally expecting a ribbon for this one. At least you got in the top 10. Great shot with wonderful colors and lighting. Congrats |

Adam Is Back !by MonaComment: since you referenced Adam I would think a human skull would be better and a little less on the un-apealing side. It has an apple so 5 and good light and detail so 6. |

Appleby KarANNComment: I'm sure everyone has commented on the size of your image. but not sure if anyone has helped you avoid this. If you have had to make it this small to fint under the mb size limitation try this. Resize your image to 640x? usually 480, then when you go to save it (depending on your software) check your compression ratio, the more compression the smaller file size BUT the lower the quality also. In Adobe photoshop you can see the file size as you change compression levels so you know which to use. Some programs will have a save for web function or an optimizer. Those should help quite a bit. Good luck. |

Apples To Orangesby mrsmaxsmartComment: Good image. Apple does seem a little soft of the detail but not disturbing. Great idea...many similar posted but yours is on top of those |
