Making Rocky Road ice creamby snafflesComment: Hello from the critique club
An interesting image that contributes well to the challenge.
I love your viewpoint Susan well chosen, it makes for an original image. I also love the long exposure it makes the image much more dynamic and engaging. Although the desat is necessary for the challenge the sepia toning works well. All the technical stuff is well chosen and effective. Don̢۪t suppose there̢۪s any of that delicious sounding ice cream left? |

Jacob's Ladder crepuscular raysby clickodakComment: Hello from the critique club
An interesting image that contributes to the challenge.
A phenomenal skyscape, very nicely captured Marcel. I like the near mono effect with very subtle colour tones at the bottom the frame. The composition is good with the heavy emphasis necessary for this dramatic sky. The only comment I would make is that I would have preferred a natural scene without the huge light poles and housing. The diagonals of the suns rays are very pleasing and nicely contrasted, well done Marcel |

Iceland midnight sunby otto22Comment: Hello from the critique club

A very fitting study for this challenge that will definitely be in the minority! A lovely landscape with lovely unique light, the composition includes all the interesting features in a pleasing balance and variation of colour. The long shutter speed has given emphasis to the falling water that makes it the important feature that it needs to be. A pleasing entry Otto, thanks |

Means Blue Light To Me....by DrakeComment: Hello from the critique club
An interesting image that contributes to the challenge.
A pleasing landscape and interesting interpretation of this effectively open challenge. Your composition is good with the walkway forming the focal point and the still waters have duplicated it nicely with its reflections. The blue light dominates and the silhouettes of the trees make a pleasing frame, the foreground tree however is a little detrimental to the effect. Overall a nice result but a chainsaw could have been useful here Drake! |

These ‘gators are never gonna be hungry are they! Another great action shot Ronnie, you wanna be careful, if you get much closer you or your camera or both could end up alongside the poor old red eared slider, heaven forbid! Probably not your best image in this series but certainly another very competent image, well done. |

Sunset Water Patternsby DrakeComment: Hello from the critique club
An interesting image that contributes to the open challenge.
An appealing abstract made by the lighting from the sunset. The ripples are varied and form some interesting shapes with some lovely dark and light shades all randomly conjoining with each other. Whilst the image works reasonably well I think a much closer shot concentrating on the lovely random shapes of a much smaller section would have made a stronger image with more impact. |

An interesting image that meets the challenge well
A pleasing composition Marcel, the shape of the water in motion is appealing together with its reflections. The person gives a sense of scale and is nicely positioned but the lamppost is not so good but there is little within the rules that you could do about that. What lets it all down for me is the serious banding in the sky which is most surprising given the minimal editing rules, it really is immediately obvious to a detrimental level. I quite like the building its position and lighting it does add to the image. |

A Second's Wave by darnokComment: Hello from the critique club

Congratulations Konrad on your blue and winning this challenge. The motion blur in the water is most appealing together with your considered composition including the foreground rock around which the waters are spilling was a sensible decision. I do have one criticism in that the sea̢۪s horizon appears to be leaning to the right a little. The clouds in the sky are a nice addition to the overall result, all in all most pleasing. |

I like the abstract nature of this water in motion, you have a nice diagonal that gives the image a more dynamic feel. I also like the tones you have ranging from the near white of the crest to the darker right though I wish there was a little more of that to balance it up a bit more. All in all really quite appealing, thanks Janine. |

Iris photo in the style of M. Vincent Van Goghby clickodakComment: Hello from the critique club
An appealing image that meets the challenge
Well thanks for broadening my eduction Marcel I hadn̢۪t realised VvG had painted irises at all. The flowers are nicely lit and stand out well against the background. Your composition though somewhat tight is appropriate for the subject. The right of the background is somewhat distracting, if it had been possible a better position would have been the flower against the dark background with the distant flowers to the left and a wider frame. |
