Susan as we’ve never seen her before! Nice one, it looks as though your yoga is progressing nicely. I like everything about this and it fits the challenge theme very well. Your hair and the hat adds a lovely sense of mystery to it all. Such dedication 100 crows, wow! Good luck with the handstandsâ€Â¦ |

Your title may well be the name of the place if so, it is very appropriate. The scene looks very tranquil and peaceful, the sort of place you would like to while away the time at. Your composition is good with the road leading you into the farm below in an inviting sort of way. Although the lighting is quite frontal you have quite a nice 3D effect. It all works very well, well seen and captured Janine |

A great documentary image that I can see in your clients brochure. Obviously for such a commission you want to record accurate detail in a neutral sort of way, I think you have achieved that well. There is good DOF throughout, I assume the colour cast is as seen within the room. It all looks very medical and a quite intimidating machineâ€Â¦ |

A great image Jonathon. Ok, so we don̢۪t have perfect symmetry but you have made a very good job of what must have been a difficult situation. What makes the image work so well is the clarity of detail and what a lot of interesting detail there is to absorb. The overall exposure is good the colours are well saturated against the near pastels of the plainer (if such a word can be used here!) surfaces. A great job, well done |

Wow Srikanth, this is a powerful imageâ€Â¦! Perhaps your image didn’t quite tell the story as accurately as you hope for but I think the title together with the doll tells it all for me, it speaks of motherhood and a yearning for a child of her own she can nurture. Her pose and expression for me confirms all that and has already been noted the lighting works really well. I think this is a great concept very well executed.
I am also very impressed with your ‘Masters of Wisdom’ image, another very strong concept that works well, keep up the excellent work Srikanth |

This is a nice piece of observation, you feel as though you are peering into their secret world. Your composition is good it shows off the building in which they are working to advantage with lots of interesting detail. I like your mono processing there is a good range of tones and the exposure itself is all good. A nice piece of work, thanks for sharing Michelle. |

An apt choice of subject Marcel. I quite like that you have tried to inject some creativity into the scene with your tilted composition. In respect of the challenge whilst you have met the brief I don̢۪t think you have made as much of it as perhaps you could have. Instead of showing the whole of the machine I would have probably gone in closer on the business end, the drill, so that you could more clearly see the man in his cab and with the focus clearly on the man this would have placed much more emphasis on the man and in doing so more fully met the challenge. |

A great idea Susan and very well executed. The use of the ‘Siggy’ has worked well, especially from the low viewpoint, you can’t beat a good old wide-angle lens. The Flash has illuminated the scene well and your active pose really gives a good impression of someone hard at their labours. It all works really well, nice one Susan. |

Another great image Ronnie, well done. I Think Mariuca has already said it all! An excellent critique that I wholeheartedly agree with. The composition is superb giving us an intimate viewpoint that helps us really engage with the bird’s moment. You are absolutely right to expose for the whites, I prefer the darker exposure you have here you have magnificent detail throughout, perfectâ€Â¦ |

In her eyesby PompouspeteComment: Hello from the critique club

A lovely portrait of a lovely model. You have correctly nailed the focus on the eyes, exactly where it should be, not easy with such a shallow DOF at f1.4, I appreciate your difficulties. Rather than rely upon the autofocus in this situation I would prefer to use manual focus, perhaps you did too? Because of the shallow DOF it really emphasises her eyes which works really well and the focus is not too shallow to render the front of the face too soft whereas the ears are very soft, it all works really well. The only thing I don’t like are the ring lights reflected in her eyesâ€Â¦ |
