Cat on a Hot Tin Roofby salsbufrComment: Greetings from the critique club.
1. Lighting: The image seems a touch too dark, I think the bright light outside takes away from the inside of the house. If the lighting was more equal, it may inprove the photo.
2. Composition: I like the 2 cats, shows a bit of curiousness. The 2 metal bars that attach a storm window or screen take away from the comp. but I geuss theres nothing you can do about that. Also the title is Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, but yet the roof is not tin, and peolple here are really picky about that stuff.
3. Angle: I like this angle I think it helps the shot out alot. Although you may try getting eye level with the cat. WE as humans are used to looking down on cats, so it would add to the interest if we changed are point of view. Sometimes that can make a world of difference.
4. Overall: This is just above a snapshot, its a good capture, but it could be inproved. Keep trying, and remember shoot how we usally dont see things.

Spend More Time With My Familyby Travis99Comment: Thanks for all the great comments everyone, I was happy to see I placed well. I don't think I should have used the frame. That was a bad idea. I was thinking about making it a print. I would remove the frame first. I had an 8x12 printed out yesterday w/o the frame and it is excellent.
Thanks again,

The Hunchback of Notre Dameby docpjvComment: From the Critique Club
I think this image was shot to close, I really do not see a face in the shot. Also the lighting is a tad harsh. Try changing the angle and slightly under expose the image.

"Thing One and Thing Two"by ace flymanComment: From the Critique Club.
Simple images like this do not work on DPC. The image is flat, depth is a highly enhancing feature to a photgraph. The light from your flash is to powerful. The straight on look does not work either. The image does have a title that fits.
It could be inproved by changing the angle, try shooting tlaying on the ground looking up, or off to the side. As for the lighting I would recommend no flash. Try using a tripod for stability.

early morning at the bankby MorbidAngelComment: Greetings From the Critique Club
I think you have too much going on it the photo, the car in the back, and the lightpole and electric socket are distracting. I don't think this will go well with voters because your face is in plain view. The image is also slightly out of focus. Maybe it could be inproved by crouching down slightly and trying to blend your face in with the black line on the floor. |

Not To Be So Depressive by sahkoComment: Wow this is one of the best in the challenge. You always take such excellent photos.
I love the pose and soft feel, the pose gives a seductive sexy feel. The colors work well with the softness, it blends the whole photo together. The border also works great with this. I can never get my borders to work.
The only thing I can nit pick at is the definition between the legs and th concrete post. But that may be my monitor.
This is a great photo I am sure it will be in the top ten. 10 |
