haha nice take. i've always loved that one but didn't think anyone would do it for this...you pulled it off just right. enough origionality and enough Larson great job...also nice touch with the style of glasses..wether intentional or not...Larson offten as you might have seen used cateye and cateye like glasses on the women in his scetches.

dumb caption. great title...should have been a stand alone with just the title and the shot.....or no title and your current one as the caption...anyhow i'm picky but i'm also a die hard Larson fan and know his work/ dry sence of humor well.

not quite as half as good as the Larson verson for one you didn't need to muck it up with the poor type you could've left the rather famous caption just be your title and people would've gotten it for sure. and second the target is done in kind of a hack way and the animals are not in the best pose for the situation...if you remember the target was on the front of a deer and it was red and white...the 2 deer were standing still and the one was turned with jaw open to show he was the speaker. IMO this is a poor rendition of a very funny and classic Larson scetch. you were on the right track just isn't done the level of refinement that it should be. remeber every cartoon larson did was hours of work and thought...this doesn't exactly reflect the same quolity (in photo form) as his work did (in scetch).

nice take on one of Larsons classics....its hard to find a shift eyed dog to hide behind the washer...and as far as i can see that is the only thing that would make this truer to the origional...but no one wants to copy outright....so well done and good luck

A good feature of the photo was the backlighting of the fish bowl. I would have given it a 5 or 6 if I didn't sense some color fringing issues around the fish. These may be minor and not noticeable to most but in a shot that doesn't grab my attention I probably nit-pick on small technical stuff. Goes back to personal interest.

I was in the minority but maybe my comments will give you a look at the minority view :-)

This is (and i mean nothing aginst the origional) way better than the origional.

the lighting is more refined with in the technique used in both shots. the sharpness plays better acrossed this than the former...and the face is truly more expressive (when compaired).

to me this tops the origional shot by far. it brings a real conection to the viewer that the other failed to have at any high level.

the energy to is different here, and conveys different feeling and emotional value...it is far less cold. and far more touching/caring.

truly a great image....with alot to say.

the title suites it as well.

i don't think so. but that is chicago....i almost when down for the tall ships to do a shot then i thought everyone will be doing that....hmm i gess if two is everyone i was right....anyhow.

its a nice image the water has a very cyan cast that would be nicer if it were a deep blue..its all the the color adj.

and the whites are pinkish...i'm gessing the reflected light from the city and setting sun made this cast.

good luck....my opinion it isn't quite as gripping as it needs to be to pull off a high placement but never the less good luck and don't let my opinion dount you. 6
