M u s i c i a n by love32907Comment: Just so you know, i know of no musician who will wear a fender strap with a fender T (save maybe eric clapton, and they pay him).
Also I would point out the idea of raising the camera up and shooting down (@ about the same degree you shot up) on this pose. This would take away the up the nose view we all have, it would bring your face more to the top 3rds convergence point (using the rule is good most always), lastly it would take away the feel as though you have just been given the last blow in a Rocky movie.
The hair is cool it works really well but its cut off, i think i've supported my point well enough but swinging the camera up to more of a top down would help this fact as well.
very last i will mention that this is DPC so its all just a bunch of punk photo junkies, and semi pros (myself included) none of this needs to be done or taken to heart. Try a reshoot never the less just to see the difference, and for goodness sakes loose the fender shirt or get paid to wear it.

The Young Musicianby xXxscarletxXxComment: Originally posted by DrAchoo: Really nice shot, but what's with the way she's holding the neck of the violin? It looks all weird over there. |
It is odd because its a right hander's violin, and she is holding it to the left hand side. (the sides go by the bow hand which is most natural in its motion if it is you dominant hand.)
so thats a small woops....
there arn't many lefty (south paw) violins out there but in all my time playing i've only ever none one lefty who played his violin backward instead of getting a custom or learning the right hand side. But still he had the chin rest moved to the propper side.
anyhow its a nice image.
that is obviously the most distracting part to me since i know alittle more (maybe) than you none violin playing viewer. (her right arm also looks slightly burnt to black in spots)
great sky to bad about the DQ it alwasy sucks.

Subwayby EvanHComment: I've been there more than 100 times. cool shot to bad it didn't go further, would've been more gripping if it was shot lower to the top stare and was wider angle. but i know you can only do so much with the f717. |

Eric.jpgby ecameronComment: over all not bad...you cast a pretty mean shadow on his right half (left as one views the image).
a big white just off camer and you fixed it and retain a pretty good ratio.
the pose is bad. the hand should NOT be on the chin the way it is, it makes him look hunched over and forward, more over the fingers are spread and thats not the best as well...
refine the pose and give that side a fill (a big sheet of white paper board works well if you don't have a true reflecter to fill with)
not half bad tho keep at it...
hope i help some one never knows
