This is a very striking image. I wonder whether the same effect could be accomplished without the solar flare (I find that a little distracting, still the choice of subject and composition are brilliant). And I just noticed the little rainbow - a nice extra touch - its a 7 as is - without the pink line you'd probably get a nine from me. Good job.

Sea Mist At Low Tide

this image really is one of two halves... the background (i.e buildings through the mist) could not be better, the foreground, through no fault of your own detracts somewhat from the mood of the image due to the tacky colours of the boat, if only you could make your own scene, a couple of worn out wooden fishing boats would have done nicely :P. Still a seven on the strength of that background.

Interesting perspective here - like the way his hands and the candle come together to frame the face. I'm not really all that fussed about the lighting though - that yellowish/reddish cast isn't quite working for me.

If ever an image was made for black and white this was it! Stunning. I love how the dark tone of that beach contrasts with the ocean. The girl provides a nice compositional element, unlike some images of this type her inclusion doesn't appear forced at all. Well done. 9.

Like the reflections of the keys on the piano, other than that this is a little plain - the lighting is a litle dull and the focus isnt perfect. Nice idea, but the execution could be a touch better. Good luck!

Those are great flowers - Im sure they are beautiful in colour, but in black and white they look positively deathly, which creates a terrific mood. Not often that a flower shot is anything but pretty, but you've gone above and beyond with this one. 8.
