this works. could possibly play with the processing a bit. maybe less contrasty? maybe some detail inside, just to draw you in and arrest my attention a bit more? all the same, one of the better images i've come across in this challenge.

interesting take/shoe-horn on the challenge :D

could stand to be a little sharper. you might want to experiment with using a slightly deeper DOF with birds. but then again, i'm no expert.

ok, i'll bite. why did you choose this angle? the lines lead me out of the frame. was it just not possible to get square up behind it? why not center your subject (assuming that it's the 'Buy American')? not sure this needed the added grunge, but that's subjective. not sure about the title, either; maybe "Buy-gone Daze" or something scalvert-like.

i'm sure there's a story here, somewhere, but it's not reaching me. maybe if you had used one of those deteriorating arches to frame the church? as is, your horizon is splitting the image and there is no strong subject in either half.
