mistby ursulaComment: Really nice image, great light and wonderful clouds. Nice contrasts. But, as for framing, does a line of trees along the bottom of the image constitute a frame? My thought was "No", but I could be wrong. It does establish a very nice "frame of reference" though. Good luck. |

Fountain in the mistby BKerrComment: Okay, the framing is there, but the overall image is way too soft for my liking. Maybe it looks better in print or on a different monitor, but I just had problems seeing it. I understand the mist idea, and it looks nice on the far trees, but the fountain and the closer bushes just seem out of focus - not misty. Maybe I'm wrong, but those are my thoughts at the moment. Good luck. |

In With The Goodby bobgaitherComment: The plant in the foreground is too much a part of the overall image - it doesn't feel like a frame. More than anything, it establishes a frame of reference for the rest of the image. I would have gotten lower and closer and had the plant take up a good portion of the bottom, left and top of the image. Or at least I would have tried to do so. If it didn't work, I would have looked for something else. Nice location, subject matter and focus. Good luck. |

Pixieby SteveJComment: The lack of focus on the framing is what bothers me with this image. It's distracting - especially given the difference in color. I like the background image though; a fitting scene for the subject. Good luck. |

Eppleby lodeComment: My problem with this image is that it is so busy and has so many areas out of focus. If it were my image I would probably have tried for a slilght greater DOF and cropped out some of the closer apples. Just my thoughts. Good luck. |

Summer Strollby Prime_TimeComment: I have a lot of trouble "reading" this photo. Maybe on a much brighter monitor, or printed in the right conditions, the framing would show up better. Or maybe if the foreground vertical bars were slightly lit up with light from behind, it would establish some separation from the background. I'd also like the same sense of detail in the lights along the water front that you seem to get in the reflections on the water. Anyway, I understand the idea you were pursuing and sort of like it. Good luck. |

Campfireby zeke123caComment: Maybe it's preferences, but I would have tried for more fire detail and less flash fill on the framing leaves. To me the emphasis should be on the subject being framed, and the frame should lend to the strength of that subject. This just didn't seem to accomplish it for me. Nice idea though. |

corner beautyby dani-tornbackpocketComment: Beautiful flower, but what is the framing? Are you trying to frame the center part of the flower with the petals? Hmmm... With the beautiful petals and the great detail in the water drops, the frame overpowers the subject. If the greenery is the frame, it seems to be more in the background rather than in the foreground - where my understanding indicates the "frame" should be - and the frame in that case is not really all encompassing, it sort of borders the lower part of the image. Anyway - as a flower, its really nice. Good luck. |

Framed...by akhaterComment: It may be my monitor, but I have a really hard time discerning details in this photo. Therefore, its hard to tell what has been framed and what hasn't. I'd go for a longer exposure and therefore more reflected light - and with a slightly lower line of sight, maybe the moon could be framed in those dark uprights. Just my thought. Good luck. |
