I really love your use of light and how you have used it to set up the composition. The textures all work so well together and the various directional elements created by the highlights are really quite powerful. This image generates two moods at once. One that is a little comical and the other that is rather sombre and moody. The term "dark comedy" comes to mind.

This is a lovely image. The lighting is quite interesting and the composition works really well. Somehow the sunlight and its effects on the left side of the image create emotions like hope and optimism. On the negative side I can't see the connection to the challenge. Beautiful image all the same.
