Midnight Caravanby magnetic9999Comment: nice, but i think the photo in the background is distracting. it's lighter than the moons and stars on the camel. but then again the contrast to the head wouldn't be so good. |

Sunny Dayby mpmcgeehanComment: very nice! i especially like the shadow o fthe palm (?) which makes the background and thus the whole picture more interesting without distracting from the main object. |

Shadow Playby stephanComment: Many thanks to all for your comments. That was my first challenge and I was really excited what would come out of it. When I saw the other entries my excitement dropped heavily ;-) Anyway it helped me a lot learning some things. iban: I tried your suggestion but it didn't make my photo any better... willsy66: I'm 25 but I don't know what that has to do with the photo. Want to make new friends in your age? ;-) Lisa: I laughed out loud about your view on my photo :-) But I never intended any political statement with that (not yet). The raised middle finger is the "eye" of the shadow. As for the shape of the shadow. Any similarities to real world characters are purely coincidental ;-) It was the best figure I could do and somehow I found it looked a bit funny. The dark corners... I knew it was not good, but I did a big mistake. I took the photo in 640x480 so I couldn't crop it. Also the whole shot would have been even more uncentered and it was already a lot (strange that nobody noticed that). |
