Maybe someone did ask to submit the leftovers from the zoo challenge :)
But it's nice. I like it.

I like to shoot objects like this. It gives a sense of the world we live in. Things that happen and things that we take for granted. We all have objects like this around us, but it seems tht only a few of us would give them the time. I like it.

I don't find this image too interesting. I don't know about the camera you have, but getting a bit closer would have helped, I think. I can see the texture, but it's not been properly shown here. You may have chosen the wrong area to focus on in this challenge. Just my thoughts.

On DPC, the smaller images are always voted down. If you don't make the longest side at least 640px or something close to that, your chances of getting a good score is unlikely. I am sure that if the same image presented bigger would do much better. Bigger the image, closer we are able to look at it and observe the detail. This image is about detail.

I am amazed at the level of detail in this one. Through our the frame you can see evey tiny bit. The composition is unusual and it stops you. I think this is a great shot. Well done.

This certainly would have been a great shot if you managed to give it proper processing. Right now, even the dark shadows are so creamy that you feel like screaming. You have adjusted the tones in to to the point where I am having a hard time trying to understand how you can possibly achieve this. Black is present in a few dots, but the rest is just hazy.
I don't know if it's your monitor that's showing you something different or you have actually chosen to present it this way, but to me it looks really odd. A lot can be done to this image and it can be made so much better. Although I don't know, I feel that calibrating your monitor is the first step.

This would have been a nice shot, but it looks like I am looking at through a coating of honey. Whatever the settings in your camera or the processing you did after has taken the detail otherwise present in shots of the moon. This moon looks more like a marble.

Looks like the shot didn't receive proper focus. It certainly looks a bit blurry. If you could contro the camera shake and got the focus spot on, it would be a lot more interesting.
