Who's the one waiting for lunch here? The big guy looks like he may eat that food! This photo looks like a regular snapshot with not much thought into it (just my humble opinion). It just doesn't really convey "Waiting" to me (even with your title - and I tend to ignore titles and look for the concept to be conveyed directly by the photo).

a little manipulation of the flowers at the base of the gravestone to be able to read the text would have added to this image. Its a little distracting blocking the text.

This seems (to me) to be just a snapshot with not much thought in it. The lady has red-eye reflection (generally caused by oncamera flash). There are some kind of flare or hanging lights behind the mans head (distracting and difficult to focus on). and the general lighting is poor (flash falloff). Without the title, you wouldn't really know it was "Waiting" - more like "upset" or "bored".
