Well, a couple of things going on here. First, the pic really is too small. It's best to use the space that we're allotted. Secondly, mailboxes don't really qualify as road signs, at least to me, and thirdly, the whole thing is a little washed out and the lighting is dim. Perhaps fiddling with the color in post processing could have given you a bit more punch.

This seems dark and the colors are dull. I don't know if it would have been possible to wait for better lighting, but it would have helped the shot IMO.

Yes, it is chaotic, and therefore hard for the eye to find somewhere to rest. I also don't see a sign. :-(

The sign fills up most of the frame, but it's blurry. That is hard on the eyes. I appreciate that you were trying to do something different, however. :-)
