4Girlsby robsmithComment: Very interesting composition. The shce on the bottom just does not seem to fit with the other two. The color seems off from the soft pinks in the other shoes. The shadow between the second and third shoes is a little strong. A 5. |

Almost Time...by nards656Comment: Lovely composition.I would have liked even crop at top and bottom as the shot is so close to centered. The shadow between IIII and VII is not explained by visible objects. A 5. |

An Unexpected Turn of Eventsby rblantonComment: I am setting here saying that I can get this if I put my mind to it. The lighting on the stem and follded back petals is very nice. The bud seems inadequate and the lighting on the glass is not flattering to it. A 5, I do like the lighting in the upper half. |

"Everything's Rosy"by TressiderComment: Yummy. I don't know about the lighting setup. The light from the back casts plate shadows into the picture and shades the near surfaces of the cake and the cake slice. It is also pretty intense on the background on the left. Great focus and depth of field. A 6. |

Optimismby LevTComment: I thought of this and had no glasses. Far better than anything I would have done. The couple on the left add to the Valentine feeling, the sea to romance, and the setting sun to the hope for a beautiful evening. I will give this a 9. |

Crime Sceneby mikel68Comment: It was a nice touch to fill the crack in with the "blood." I am not sure how the other crayons add to the idea of a crime scene. Very creative idea which could use a few more creative ideas to go along with it. A 6. |

Lean forward and backby whagerbaumerComment: Thanks for all the nice comments. I did not have a clue as to why the picture changed as I moved back and forth looking at it. After giving it some thought, I believe it may be because of temporary retinal retention of a bright image. By moving you move the image you just formed and overlay it on the new image and simultaneously form a new image which is then moved and overlayed. That will occur until you stop moving. Just a theory. If anyone else has a clue, I am still a littlc curious.
By the way, if you want to see the image I was trying to create when I couldn't make this one come out and started blurring it, take a look in my portfolio at the picture: Anatomy of Incandescence. I have been trying to develop the techniques of combining very bright and very dark elements in the same picture.
I am glad that others enjoyed experiencing the same phenomenon that puzzled me.
For any who did not understand. The title is a recommendation as to how to view this picture so as to experience a particular phenomenon.
Thanks again. Especially to the extraordinary five people who gave this a 10. |
