* Howdy from the Critique Club *

For me, I look at this image for a long time thinking about it, I read all the comments and I thought, something is just off a little and allot had to do with skin tone and sharpness. I know skin tones can very from person to person, but only the photographer knows by see with there own eyes.

For me there is a light reddish tint in the top of the forehead area. I tried to do selective colors to rid of it but every color I used effected it.

So I wonder what a black and white would look like, I used channel mixer, painted on the mask to bring the eyes back about 30% opacity and some curves for contrast and wow what a difference. Even though losing a bit of bright green in the eyes they still really pop. This for me took care of the color issue.

For sharpness at this close range. It better be there or this place will show you in your score. I don't have cs or cs2. (for smart sharpen) So I blow up the image 300% and look for the most contrast area on the photo. This was along the subjects right cheek and I look at those pixels. I used threshold 0, radius 1.5 and the amount moving that up until they brighten and then just back them off a fraction. You want to be right there on the edge and this will not show no halo.

One other thing the lip gloss is too shinning for me.

And if anyone thinks I am wrong they should correct me, For I am always learning something new everyday and if you have any questions about my comments feel free to PM me.

You have yourself a wonderful day, Mark Thomas Kelsay

Since there is not much color on your window frame, you might have, maybe channel mixer, then paint the horse back to original color and then some curves to give your frame a real worn out effect, always painting Oliver back, I think this gave it a better look. Also over sharpen the frame area. JMO.
