very flat. looks like you were shooting with the sun in your lens. maybe try to shade the lens, shoot at a different time of day, or try a different angle.

I love the light and composition. adding the criss-cross breaks up the symmetry of the coils just enough to really keep the eye working through the photo.

Not abstract in the sense of the guidelines (Abstracts are about lines, shapes and colors. If it is recognizable as an object - it is not an abstract), but very entertaining. 5.
