Yuckby BradComment: Eeeek! What a bizarre shot! Now I'll never look at pelicans the same way again! Thanks for sharing. |

Balancing Actby BradComment: One of the best photos of a Night Heron I've seen. Color, detail, composition, DOF...everything is spot-on. |

Dream Onby CrazyStripesssComment: Great subject matter. Lots of potential with a shot like this. Black and white or selective desaturation would be fun to play with. The focus could be a bit sharper and the sliver of tree at right is a bit distracting, IMHO. I think it might be interesting if you were to take this shot from a lower angle, such as ground level.
I like everything that is going on the shot. It seems complex, but not overly-busy. A closer crop, focusing on the people might also be a good image. I'm envious of your subject matter. Nothing so interesting where I live. Keep up the good work! |

Fill My Little Worldby CrazyStripesssComment: Love the colors on this one. Nice use of DOF. I'm torn about the placement of the flower. I'm curious how it would look if it were on the intersection of the upper left third, instead of going off of the top of the image. I'm also seeing quite a few artifacts. Not sure how you are preparing your images, but if you are using Photoshop, this might be a helpful tutorial. Nice work, overall. I can tell that you have a good eye. |

L.O.V.E.by CrazyStripesssComment: Very clever visual metaphor. The diagonal lines create a dynamic composition. |

Basketballby John PahlComment: My monitor may not be the best for critiquing on; however this image has a yellowish cast on my screen. For me, the crop feels a bit tight. It also seems like the boy guarding is fairly out of focus. The shot might be a bit more interesting if his face were visible and in focus. The other boy is pretty sharp, but his pose and expression aren't very dynamic for an action shot. Definitely a difficult atmosphere for photography. I'll leave it to the pros to tell you how to make it better. Message edited by author 2007-03-29 12:12:11. |
