Thanks for the comments. This is a flower frog balanced on it's edge. They are designed to sit flat, submerged in water. Flower stems are inserted into the holes. Floral frogs were the precursors to floral foam and are now considered collectables.

A blue lizard

I think the positioning of the forward arm is contributing to the look of discomfort. The technical aspects of the image are top-notch.

Awww, I've never seen a baby Great Blue Heron. They seem as stoic as the adults. You've captured a perfect moment in time. There is something about the background that holds this image back just a bit. It wouldn't take much to make this one just jump off the screen. Beautiful exposure, nice detail and stunning composition.
