Roll Right...by LegatoMuzicComment: Good composition and contrast. The sky appears to be slightly grainy which detracts from the shot imho. |

The Big Black Dieselby OneSweetSinComment: Great focus and subject on this photo. The background details of the buildings against those on the train are a little too busy though. Maybe some selective desaturation of the of the background to emphasize the subject? Or a lower angle (camera placed near the ground) my have helped to rienforce the scale of the train and eliminate some of the buildings from view? Nice shot nonetheless. |

Checkin' 'er Outby SamTComment: Good composition and subject. The viewers eye is naturally draw from the man, to along the length of the train. Colors seem a little washed out from the bright sunlight though. |

Retiring #12by bobdaveantComment: NIce picture. I like the composition and focus here. But imho I don't think the b&w is working. There is very little contrast between the roof of the engine against the wall. |

Retired Flagshipby coolharComment: I like the texture and detail on the surface of your subject. This also has a very nostalgic feel to it. The picture seems a tad dark though, but I'm not sure brightening it would really add to it anyways. Nice shot. |

Under Wrapsby e301Comment: Good subject. The lines in the car cover's fabric and natural shape of the rear-view mirror really draw the eye across the photo. Lighting and composition is nice too. |

Defeated But Still Proudby Dr.ConfuserComment: Good composition and contrast. The high-altitude cirrus clouds really emphasize the feeling of flight that this photo evokes. I found the small bit of cloud near the bottom left is somewhat distracting. But still a great shot. |

Landing shotby johnmComment: I like the composition on this shot as the windows naturally frame the 2 points of subject. However, the lighting on the bottom left seems a bit distracting as the forground is caught in the middle between being a sillouhette, and just being underexposed. Maybe the use of flash or selective levels adjustment in photoshop would have helped? Nice shot nonetheless. |

Waiting to Go Homeby Resusit8uComment: When I clicked on this photo, I instantly felt emotion from it. I think it's a good example of how a picture can connect with someone and mean different things to different people. In this case, I think it was the mood and feeling you captured, in context with my memories of my own father.... Anyways, use of b&w for dramatic effect, sillouhette use, and the interplay of light and shadows, makes this very interesting. I like the way the lighting becomes suggestive against the man's face and emphasizes the title. Hope it does well, I'm voting the only 9 i've given in this challenge |
