Cannon Beachby ZoomdakComment: Stunning photo! Great control of detail in foreground while zooming in on the Rock in the background, while offering us the wonders of multi-colored ridges in the far background. Some of the finest DOF work in this challenge! Delighted you placed in the top 10. In my mind, this photo should have been a ribbon winner. Keep sending DP Challenge such wonders of the natural landscape! Zoomdak rocks! Message edited by author 2004-05-03 14:11:59. |

Twilight Abbeyby zippyacornsComment: Lovely lighting though the focus is a bit off. I love the moment in early evening (vespers) which you caught this shot. A serendipity moment for an ancient place of worship. |

Unexpected Invitation by ZoomdakComment: A true serendipity! An unexpected invitation to sit and soak in the beauty from one of the most incredible places on earth! Congrats on a great photo. Less grass and more ocean would have made this photo even more wonderful. |

True Strengthby shophandComment: While I agree with the photographer in the perspective that faith in God and the cross of Christ is our true strength, the photo needs some strengthening: compose the limbs to point to our embrace the cross; the cross seems a bit wimpy to exemplify true strength; remove the unsightly composition tiles on the church roof, clouds with sunlight breaking through to highlight the cross would have been more moving a choice of background. |

Rooted in Rockby JPRComment: The black & white subject is fitting for the stones, but the season of winter makes the subject of the tree rooted in the rock look like it has died. Leaves and signs of life would have given this Ansel Adams photo more truth to speak. |

The Source of Her Strengthby librodoComment: Excellent subject and composition! Lighting is wonderful. Only crit is photo seems a bit too posed, not enough caught in the act of true prayer. |
