Imperviousby ElmakiasComment: Possibly your best yet Adam. I'm anxious to see exactly how you set this up and lit it. Conceptually brilliant. Execution pretty good. Keep hatching ideas like this. |

Please come back tomorrowby bmartuchComment: Looks like it was handheld in low light, a prescription for soft and out of focus. The shot has potential though. If you know you're going to be shooting in situations like this, bring a tripod. If you don't have one and you still see a shot you must have, find something to brace yourself on, the top of a car, a trash can, a light pole, etc. |

Story Bridgeby Kimberly75Comment: I really want to like this image, but am bugged by the inward-leaning of the buildings on the left, and to a lesser extend, the bridge. Though there is a way to fix this in post, unfortunately, it's not allowed in basic. Sooo, could it be controlled in camera? Possibly, by finding a site where the perspective effect is not as great, or by finding a vantage point further way and shooting with some zoom. Otherwise, it's a pretty shot of a pretty location. Focus looks like it could be just a tad better. |

Adams St Bridgeby meyersComment: There is nothing wrong with this shot at all: it's technically well done, focus is good, good sharpness. It's a night shot so lighting is below average and colors are a bit muted. Compositionally, I'd say it's a little flat. The point-of-view is not exceptionally interesting, the main subject is very centered. If you really wanted to focus on the central building, why not move in even more and get rid of that negative space (pavement/street) at the bottom? Or move back and find a more interesting composition, perhaps decentering the subject and showing a bit more of the bridge, or a passer-by, or something to add a little drama and action to an otherwise static scene? |

Waiting for the stars to emergeby Dan_CottleComment: Quite a few clouds there. Hope you have a promising forecast! Nice color gradient in the clouds and a good silhouette. Not really enough to carry the shot though. I think you need a starry sky, or at least a deep, dark, not-obviously-cloudy sky. |

Night Fishermanby Bear_MusicComment: I think the overall darkness of the picture and the distance of the subject work against each other here. If the pic had been a little lighter, you could have gotten away easier with the tiny person - the the challenge subject of Night Shot mitigated against lightening the pic. So I'd have probably gotten closer and emphasized the subject a bit more. Tough call. The deep blue and black tones are very nice. |
