Absolutely wonderful composition and I absolutely love the choice (and execution) of the BW tones. A moment worth saving! However, ahem, the border is IMO, woefully miscalculated. Terribly distracting from what otherwise would have been a memorable portrait.

Hmmmm, looks like Madison to me. A badger?? Nice job getting some interesting light play. The illumination levels vary a bit dramatically though, probably causing you a few problems with some voters.

Cool. This is the one west of Hancock in Maryland or S. Pennsylvania, right? I've got a shot of this somewhere too. It's awe-inspiring but very difficult to shoot without an ultra-wide lens. Nicely done.

Edit to add: Sideling Hill??

Given your explanation of the process used to created the photo, I would entirely agree with the DQ based on the major element clause. Of what is this is a photograph? Nobody would regard the 20x20 pixel yellow square as the major element. Most people describing the photo would not even mention the yellow square in the middle, but would describe it as a series of black and yellow boxes creating an illusion of depth or an Escher-like optical effect. You have effectively created a major element by your use of repetitive borders.
