With such a compelling subject, I think your choice of frame is a bit much though. A simple white line might have been the exclamation point! |

Autumn in Augustby Prime_TimeComment: I like the effect you were going for here, but I think you missed the mark. The foreground flowers are a bit out of focus, and the composition is a bit too busy to allow for the overall pattern to stand out. |

Bromeliadby neenee1999Comment: I like the simplicity of this shot. It's a beautiful statement of the ability of a good subject to "do the talking" without unnecessary frills. It could be a bit sharper, but the overall impact is not lessened at all. I also like the brown background. |

It would make the red really pop and the brownish anthers would still be very strong. As it is, the background is too busy for me and distracts away from the central subject. |
