I find abstracts very hard to do well. I didn't enter this challenge. This works very well and makes a powerful and compelling photograph. Great work. my tip for a ribbon.

Milky Way over Church Rock

Thanks all for the votes. Slightly kicking myself after reading the Standard editing rule-set a number of times it was not obvious that any post-processing was allowed (other than crop, rotate and dust spot and minor cloning)

This entry is therefore pretty much straight from camera and would have benefitted from some adjustments to bring out the detail in the Milky Way... which is a little faint in the bright late evening sky.

I wrote a brief article on my blog where I have shown some shots from this evening.
